RSPCA WA Fundraiser Result

I have to say a super big thank you to all of the participants who registered for the RSPCA WA fundraiser on Friday night, to Catherine for donating the wine for the raffle, Stampin' Up! for donating some fabulous prizes, Jocie for helping cut the kits and all the girls who bought raffle tickets, mini milk cartons of goodies, bid on silent auctions, placed orders (commissions were donated). 

We made five projects in total which I will put up on the blog (as soon as I photograph them all), enjoyed some nice door prizes, caught up with old friends and made some new ones and along the way and as a result we will be donating a total of $779.72 which will no doubt help the RSPCA WA with their invaluable work.

Summer Mini Catalogue Launch Fundraiser for the RSPCA WA!!!!

Yes - it's almost time for a new mini catalogue! Can you believe it - I'm still working my way through my very, very long wish list from the main Idea Book & Catalogue - the code for "winning Lotto ticket" seems to be missing so I must email head office about that!

In a nutshell the format for the next fundraiser is FIVE awesome projects made with lots of new stamps, dies, punches, papers & embellishments......there is a registration PDF here 

Where:   St. James Anglican Church, Cnr Elderberry Drive and Hacketiana Ave, South Lake

When:    Friday 2^nd December 2011

Time:     7pm to 10.30pm (doors open 6.45pm)

Cost:    $30 which includes all materials for 5 projects, supper, door prizes, displays to inspire, new Summer mini Catalogue and free delivery on all orders placed on the day over $50 (excluding postage)

Who:      Anyone aged over 15 and who loves to stamp and papercraft (babies in arms excepted)

Optional: A camera to capture the action and ideas, there will also be auctions &  raffle tickets!

RSPCA Fundraiser Result

So sorry not to have posted the result of the RSPCA Queensland fundraising afternoon earlier, but life has been busy. We had 30 lovely ladies attend the afternoon for 3 hours of fun and five projects to make and a scrumptious afternoon tea! There were lots of displays for ideas, awesome raffle prizes and also door prizes. We had some fantastic donations of prizes from Little Farm Designs and also Stampin' Up! plus Diane brought along some wonderful fresh produce for donation.

Lots of busy ladies being very industrious. Isn't it a lovely venue, fortunately the St.James Anglican Church donated the venue gratis for the afternoon - how lovely was that!

and did I mention the awesome afternoon tea - a very big thank you to Michelle, Diane, Sue and Catherine for helping with all the food. I was also fortunate to borrow items from Annette & Michelle as I just didn't have enough of some items to supply five tables at once!

The grand total that has been donated to the RSPCA Queensland to go a small way to helping them recover after the devastating floods, cyclones and other natural disasters that this year has seen 99% of the state declared a natural disaster zone was $701.26. So thank you very much to everyone who helped, especially Catherine for setting up the displays and Michelle for helping everyone with their projects. Hope you enjoyed it!

RSPCA Fundraiser April 2nd 2011

After all of the natural disasters that have happened of late across Australia and New Zealand it's been a bit overwhelming knowing which charities to support, as I just want to help them all, as no one is less deserving than the other. However I have chosen just one as the focus of my Stampin' Up! Autumn-Winter Mini Catalogue Launch on April 2nd. I was reading the news on the web about how the RSPCA in Queensland had completely lost it's headquarters, 4 of it's other centres had been seriously damaged and that was just after the floods - since then they have had a category 5 cyclone affect 75% of the state and more subsequent flooding. So why the RSPCA, well they get very little government support (less than 2%), weren't eligible for flood relief funds and in general at times like this their services are in desperate need, but they aren't being given the support to nable them to continue their work without some serious help.
