Nature Walk Faux Postage

We did a faux postage class a couple of weeks ago and here's one of the cards from it, it also involved basic masking, sponging techniques. I love faux postage - such a great way to use your existing supplies to give a different effect. I tend to just print out the postage templates onto normal copy paper rather than putting card stock through my printer for the simple fact that if I make a smudge or mistake, it's no real issue to start again. I made the template for this one - if you want a copy of the PDF email me.

Stamps: Nature Walk, French Foliage, Autumn Days & Happiest Birthday Wishes
Card stock: Cajun Craze, More Mustard, Soft Suede
Ink: Black Stazon, Cajun Craze, More Mustard, Soft Suede

Cracked Glass Nature Walk

Well I was fortunate enough to be part of a wonderful event for raising funds for the National Breast Cancer Foundation via Crafters Anonymous - for $20 we got to have a cyber event making 6 projects over the day (including written tutorials at the end of it all) plus tickets for an awesome raffle prize. So over the next few days I'll put up the projects that we made on the day - although everyones was different as for example this on was a technique, but the choice of image and the item we made from it was totally our own!

Coincidentally we were only talking about the cracked glass technique last week at our demonstrator meeting. I love this stamp set - you can't quite see from the photo, but the bird was water coloured in Baja Breeze and Early Expresso ink.

Stamps: Nature Walk
Ink: Baja Breeze, Early Expresso & Versamark
Card Stock: Crumb Cake, Old Olive, Early Expresso, Very Vanilla
Accessories: Old Olive grosgrain ribbon, stamping sponges, clear embossing powder, heat gun, powder pal, embossing buddy, Dimensionals, SNAIL, Aquapainter.

Nature Walk

My sense of colour is sometimes a bit off, but when in doubt I am learning more to trust the Color Coach #121620 (AUD$28.95) - fantastic investment for those who sometimes have mental blanks, want a challenge or some inspiration. I wanted to use Marina Mist as it's a colour I haven't used much, so I checked the Color Coach and chose the "getting started combination" which was Real Red, Old Olive & Marina Mist............

I used the gorgeous stamp set Nature Walk with it and a technique that involves wrapping a straight boarder piece around a curve (easy to do, just clip little "v" shapes out the flat side of the boarder and bend it around the curve). Both the oval pieces were popped up on Dimensionals to give it well more dimension and the edges of things were sponged with Sahara Sand to give the edges a softer look.

Stamps: Because I Care, Nature Walk
Card Stock: Real Red, Marina Mist, Old Olive, Elegant Soiree DSP, Very Vanilla
Ink: Marina Mist, Old Olive, Early Expresso, Sahara Sand
Accessories: 1/16" hole punch, Real Red brad, scallop oval punch, large oval punch, scallop boarder, Tombow glue, paper snips, Real Red Polka Dot grosgrain ribbon (retired, but you could use plain Real Red). Final Press Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Birds & Blooms die, Ovals die, Aqua painter, stamping sponges.
